Trojan Men ...BEWARE

Fake Condoms. Yes, that's right FAKE CONDOMS. Gold Wrappers (Magnums) at that.
I had seen the rumors about such on the rumors page at
allhiphop.com (before they put the you tube video up.) But I didn't totally believe it until I saw the
NY Daily News story.
I had read the stories about what was going on in England with the fake Durex's, but since I don't use them I didn't think twice about it. But Magnums - totally different story.
The sad thing is I can't help to think that some form of government entity is behind this. I mean fake condoms. Not just Condoms, but the one that is targeted towards black men. If you think about the implications that this could have on the spreading of disease this is a very serious matter.
So be safe and wrap it up. And be sure that it's an official, certified Gold Wrapper.

If You're Gonna Cop Something....
...you gotta cop fa'real.
This is a popular line spit by the Big Homie himself, Jay-Z. In the spirit of this line I've decided to put periodically, some items here that fit under this category. And the first award goes to.....

Anyone who has purchased the Saturn Roadster
Come on now. If you're going to get a two-seater it can't be a Saturn. Saturn's are for good mileage and durability. Not sporty, flashy, baller-esque type flossin.

Blame This On HIP-HOP....
Fight breaks out at Boston Pops
By NANCY RABINOWITZ, Associated Press WriterThu May 10, 1:46 PM ET
Something else popped at the Boston Pops' opening night concert — a brawl broke out at Symphony Hall.
Before rocker Ben Folds appeared as a special guest Wednesday night, two men did some rockin' and rollin' in the balcony as the orchestra performed a medley from the movie "Gigi."
The fight started after one of the men tapped the other on the shoulder with a program to complain about noise, police said.
Television video of the fight showed the two struggling — one with his shirt partially pulled off — as several people stood around them.
Conductor Keith Lockhart briefly halted the performance while the men were escorted out.
Witnesses said they heard a scream from the balcony, and the sound of chairs falling, then a second scream as the fight escalated.
"The first time there was a scream, Keith looked up that way but he kept going," audience member June MacIndoe told Boston's WHDH-TV. "Then about a minute and a half later ... there was a big scream and you could hear chairs falling over and you could see them up there, fists going."
At that point, Lockhart stopped the performance for a couple of minutes, she said. "He just stood there, you know, quiet."
The concert resumed, and Folds performed later.
"It was an unfortunate incident, but thankfully this kind of behavior is truly out of the ordinary at a Boston Pops concert," the orchestra said in a statement. It referred calls to the Boston police department.
Boston police spokesman David Estrada said police officers on security detail at the hall escorted the men off the property, and no charges were filed. No injuries were reported, he said.

What is really needed

I sat patiently waiting to hear about Monday's Black Athlete Forum held by Spike Lee at Morehouse.... and finally the stories broke.
First and foremost I will say that I dislike Whitlock's views on almost everything. So much so it's taking everything in me to not refer to him as I would if I was talking to one of my boys about him, or to even put a link to his column on my page. Yet, this is not about him persay.
While I was happy to hear that C. Viv spoke her mind about what Whitlock wrote about her and her squad, I am upset that it stole the show. Well at least let him tell it.
There are problems within black culture. I will not deny that. But placing the blame for everything that goes wrong in the world on hip-hop is idiotic. What Jason, Cosby, and others fail to realize is that you can take all the rap videos off T.V., censor all the hip-hop albums created, and assign police officers to pants patrol to be on kids like officers are on rappers there wouldn't be a drastic change, because all your doing is taking away a negative. The way you make change is by showing a positive.
But nobody talks about that aspect. When I look at T.V. I see alot of Caucasian images that are just as damaging, however I see even more positive images that showcase a different spectrum. That's what black america needs - showcase the positive.
You can take the negative images out of the fictional world, but you can't take them out of reality. So if a kid sees a drug dealer from his neighborhood pushing a Escalade sitting on some rims. Whether he sees it on T.V. or not he's gonna be like Daaaaaaaamn 28's. And then what?

Being Oscar De La Hoya and fighting in Las Vegas is enough to win you one one judge, but not a fight.
In one of the most highly anticipated boxing matches in year's Floyd Maywhether Jr. dropped off the aging Golden Boy in a split decision.
I was going to order the fight, but luckily a sports bar down the street was showing it for a $20 cover. Being a fan of boxing I appreciated the bout. Floyd's work was indeed a "masterpiece." He craftily allowed Oscar to back him into the ropes and then vanished as if his last name should have been Houdini Jr. But not until the Golden Boy threw punch after punch only hitting air, nonetheless getting the crowd hype.
Despite a few barrage of flurries by De La Hoya, Floyd dominated this fight by ....boxing. Not fighting but boxing - the sweet science.
However, what's hurting boxing is the lack of participants that are able to fight. In today's society the true art of boxing is getting slept on like those little blue mats in daycare. Fans don't want to see tactical fights. They want to see knockdown drag out slugfests like the heavyweights of old. Yet, seeing the results of what has happened to many of those fighters why would you expect someone to come in and want to get their brains pounded out. This isn't a Rocky movie, where you can be on the verge of severe brain damage and come back to fight this is reality.
That's why people love this UFC' ish. My knowledge of the UFC is limited, I'll say that up front, but you don't have to know a lot about it to see two people just basically beating the living shit out of each other. And as John Mellancamp tells us every other T.V. minute...... This is our country. We love raw, gritty, straight to the punch violence.
Boxing used to be that but now it's not. Sure I know that the there is also a lack of talented boxers, but after last night's fight with two of the best boxers of this generation, there were still a lot of individuals complaining that their wasn't enough action.

Da Kicks is MEAN....

I'ld like to thank Nike, primarily it's Brand Jordan division. I was pissed at you for bringing out the $200 Retro 1 (Old Love, New Love) Package on April 21 then deciding to move up the $175 Spike's from May 5 to April 28. Causing individuals like me to drop off around $400 in two weeks when you could have kept the May 5 date and given us who get paid bi-weekly another check to supplement our addictions.
However, I've gotten over that and you're back on my good side. Why? Because you guys aren't making any J's worth buying again almost the whole summer. Yes a solid three months (unless another change is made) of not having to get to the mall early on Saturday morning or having to hound the good folks at Champs before hand. Aside from the Retro 1 UNC Jordan that comes out all the rest of the Retro 1's being released are horrid. Just what I needed.
In the last six months I've already purchased five pairs of Retro J's. So the break is one that I and my checking account really do appreciate.
So thank you. I'll catch you on the Retro 8 release.
